Seminario: «Torsion and nondissipative transport»

Seminario impartido por Miguel A. Vázquez-Mozo (Universidad de Salamanca).

Abstract: Background geometrical torsion is used in condensed matter physics to implement the effect of lattice dislocations at long distances. In this talk I will analyze nondissipative torsion-induced transport in a relativistic chiral fermion fluid at equilibrium. Linear torsional corrections to the constitutive relations of the different currents will be determined using the method of descent, as well as the different transport coefficients expressed in terms of the global normalization of the Nieh-Yan anomaly. Finite temperature torsional corrections will be also discussed.
