Seminario: «Effects of relative humidity on aerosol light scattering: physical basis and laboratory measurements»

  • Fecha: viernes 25 de enero de 2013
  • Lugar: Centro Andaluz de Medio Ambiente (CEAMA). Av. del Mediterráneo s/n
  • Horario: 13:00 h.
  • Descripción:
    Seminario impartido por Gloria Titos.
Abstract: Ambient relative humidity determines the water content of atmospheric aerosol particles and thus has an important influence on the amount of visible light scattered by particles. A humidification system has been built for a nephelometer which allows the measurement of the light scattering coefficient at a defined RH in the range 40-90%. In this seminar, the physical basis of the hygroscopic growth will be introduced. In addition, the set-up of the humidified nephelometer will be presented together with a detailed characterization with well-defined laboratory generated aerosols.
