- Sinopsis: A re-lecture of Goethe’ s FAUST 1 & 2 nowadays, will prove us many links to our present time: crisis of sciences, politics, of the global financial system, of xenophobia, ethic values, the clash of cultures and – last not least – the megalomania of mankind. Different actors of the Faust part are going for excursions into the first and second part of Goethe’ s FAUST. It’ s a long way, striding “from heaven, through the world, to hell.” Their aim is not modest: to waken “the whole wide circle of creation.” Faust’ s alter ego offers new, unexpected experiences, including euphoria and suicide attempt, delusional ideas and carnal desires, economic inventions and criminal acts: a biography based on love, progress and destruction. Originally, FAUST 3 was a cooperation of the EventProduktion | Theater Campus of the Konstanz University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and the Theatre Institut of the Nanjing University (China). The bilateral project aimed to view oethe’ s text in a new perspective, creating a new theatrical version including other texts of actuality. It focusses the meaning of progress, as this term is differently understood in Europe and in China. The FAUST 3 version performed in Granada will be played by four women, coming from China, Nigeria, Ucraine and Germany.
